This is really exciting! ...or should we say relaxing? Float tanks have come a long way since John C. Lilly's sensory deprivation experiments of the 1950s and 60s. Today, in addition to enhancing meditation and consiousness expansion, float pods are used in treatments for recovery, relaxation, pain relief, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. See this page about how Navy Seals are using float pods to treat concussions. [caption id="attachment_12234" align="aligncenter" width="640"] The Floatpod Technologies pod lives in a room of its own with a shower and plenty of room to dress.[/caption] A float session is usually 60 minutes long, during which a patient will float in heavily salted water in an enclosed pod that looks like it could escape any battle class starship in a pinch. While inside, the patient has access to an intercom system, can turn on a small light when needed - in an array of colors, and listen to a choice of music, recorded therapy program, or just be in silence. The new Float Pod is one of only a few here in Connecticut. We expect this to become very popular, and as common as getting a message. If you want to be one of the first to experience this, sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Facebook, then watch for the announcement of the new Wellness Center opening.

We are pleased to announce that new expansions are underway! More space, and more services are required to meet the health needs of our patients. In early 2019 Dr. Stefana Pecher will open a new space directly behind her existing offices and wellness center. This new space will be home to additional holistic services such as a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, Himalayan salt cave, infrared sauna, floating salt tank, vitamin infusion therapy, acupuncture and massage. A camera-ready test kitchen and a large space for private gatherings will also be included here. Dr. Pecher also purchased a 32 acre farm across from her office. Here she will be taking her vision of healing for the North Stonington communities to a new level. The farm will be home to a healing retreat as well as a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit named Better Together CT, Inc. Better Together CT, Inc. is dedicated to the reintegration of military veterans through retraining in agriculture and forestry. Farm- to-table vegetables will be grown in indoor aeroponic state-of-the-art high-yield setup, along with outdoor hoops for year-round hearty vegetables and hemp farming. The farm, the expanded wellness center, and its programs will cultivate a culture of wellness in the region. All together it shall be called: "The Eagle Summit Medical Campus!" For more information, please download the printable prospectus, visit the Better Together CT website, and sign up for our mailing list. You won't want to miss out.
